I received yesterday in the mail a Christmas card from my cousin that was titled "Welcome to 2008 the year of the rat." My first thought was..."what were the Chinese thinking!" Wouldn't ringing in a new year sound more exciting with different terminology? I usually try not to equate pleasant new experiences with dirty old rats. Ok, it could just be me. I'm sure with enough time, I could come up with some better ways to describe the new year, but time I do not have LOL! All I can say is last year, 2007 was the year of the boar, it really wasn't a bore - just in a few words - terrific, fun, sad, depressing, anticipated, tragic, stressed, busy filled year that made me wish for the rat! Honestly, I don't think you can describe a year in one word - you need at least 12 - sooooo, here's hoping that you and yours find 2008 to be everything you want and need it to be.
Happy New Year!

i'm so glad your blog is back! I love the blog-makeover. I'm with you, the chinese really ought to rethink their terminology for years.
Year of the Rat? Now that sounds exciting. What fun will this year bring. :P
