Waikiki Beach and Honolulu
We finally made it to Oahu and have been here 3 days now! The time is flying. We have had so much fun and have seen a lot of different things this time around. We did the Polynesian Cultural Center again and saw a couple of different villages this time and tried different activities that we didn't do with the kids. It was a fun experience going with another couple. We hung out at the beach today in the morning and watched Frank and Jim take their surf lessons. We were amazed they rode quite a few waves and had a blast. We then went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation and did the maze...the Perkins finished...Frank and I were not so diligent! The sherbet was good and we saw lots of interesting plants and the cutest green lizard. Laurel got great pictures. We stopped along the North Shore (thanks to me) and saw some great waves and finally sea turtles resting on the beach. I guess it does take two times coming to finally see them up close. They were adorable. We drove around Halewaia (famous surf town), had dinner at Pizza Joes and watched the huge waves in a cove. They had to be at least 15 to 20 feet high. It was amazing! The guys ditched us in back in Honolulu to work and do homework dropping us off at the International Marketplace and we shopped and walked back. We are hiking Diamond Head tommorrow so off to bed. Hawaii is awesome and it is so great to be back and enjoying the great atmosphere and hospitality!
