NYC
Phew! It's been a whirlwind 2 weeks and we are finally home again! The kids stayed in Utah and went camping with my parents and their cousins, while Frank and I headed to NYC to meet friends for our mutual anniversaries. I'd forgotten how humid NYC is in July, but despite the constant dripping state (LOL) it was a blast. We stayed on the Avenues of the Americas in Midtown - close to Times Square and Broadway. We had a car service pick us up at JFK and he had only 1 gallon of gas and we were like, you can't get to downtown on that..he was yeah yeah..I was not up to walking..pulled over in Queens for gas..Frank was so mad..crazy start. We spent time in the financial district, seeing ground zero and the progress made, visited Battery Park and Trinity Church on Friday. We ate great Italian food in Little Italy and did some power shopping with the boys. They even agreed to walk through the European paintings at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with us. You could spend a whole day just there. We did lots of walking and riding on the subway (we have the blisters to prove it). The Yankees game was great, kinda cool to sit in the old stadium and think about who's played there. The new stadium is across the street and looks fun. We enjoyed breaks with the manager's reception at the hotel to refuel and saw Boeing Boeing Saturday night. It was an awesome play at the Longacre Theatre. It had Christine Baranski, Bradley Whitford, Gina Gershon, Kathryn Hahn and Mary McCormack in it. Amazing cast and performances! Oh, and can't forget the trip to Carnegie's for Cheesecake...still the best. Even gave Lindy's another try and it's not the same! Nice break from the usual and are now back into normal life ie: Frank off to Cleveland on business, me laundry and getting the kids ready for school next week. Thanks to all who watched the kids and helped out! Love you all!
