Lost and Found

Two days ago the girls found a dog hanging out in our front yard and came running in all concerned that we had a stray in our yard. We went outside to investigate and saw a beautiful, friendly dog wagging her tail. She looked too well taken care of to be a stray and my first thought was someone had let her go because they could not take care of her; she had no collar on. We are having a cold spell in Arizona and I felt bad. We had the girls go around with a couple of friends to the park and around the block to see if anyone was looking for a dog - no luck. We put her in the backyard, played fetch with her and fed her. We ended up taking her to the vet to see if she was microchiped, but no such luck. Unfortunately, she did not get along at all with our dog Max. We didn't want to let her loose in case someone was searching for her and we knew we couldn't keep her here. Friends said we could borrow their kennel for the garage worse case scenario. Natalie was really upset as we talked about the pound if no one recognized pictures. Unbeknownst to us she went upstairs and prayed that the owners would come get her. Literally 5 minutes later we got a knock on the door and a lady inquired about the dog barking in the back yard and if she was a yellow lab that we'd found. We were so happy to have this dilemma solved. Natalie told us about the prayer after they had collected AK. Come to find out they live the street behind us in a house they are renting from friends of ours. They brought us over Christmas goodies and snacks. It was a good lesson for our girls on the value of prayer and I was so happy that we didn't have to take AK to the pound.

I love that story and answers to prayers. I am glad the dog was found. Good for you for taking care of God's precious animals. :)
