Spring is in the air in Arizona and my blogging has definitely taken a back seat to me working in my garden and enjoying the weather before it gets sweltering hot and I have to switch gears to indoors. Too much has been happening lately and frankly, I've not been able to keep up. I've missed writing and am looking forward to my life slowing down a bit with Spring Break coming up. One event we had this week was Amanda's Spring Band concert. I enjoy all types of music and it is nice for me to see her excel in this area. She is very talented and I'm so grateful and blessed that she cherishes music the way her dad and I do. I've mentioned before that they have a new band teacher, Mr. Montoya, and I really like his style! I'd probably get a headache listening to all the kids "learning" their instruments, but he has done a great job at molding these kids. I was particularly touched, pleased and a bit astonished to see one selection on the program: Beautiful Savior. I had to record it even though it was done by another grade level. It is nice to know that we still have a school district that allows our music departments to take such liberties if you want to call it. It wasn't the best piece of the night, but it touched my soul. Amanda's grade was awesome, she's first chair of the clarinets and she opened the concert. Can't be more proud of a kid than that!
Too much culture for Natalie...sprawled across the row :).
