Release of 500 pink balloons - it was an amazing sight.
There are some truly amazing, inspirational and noble women out there that are changing the way we see ourselves as women. I'm truly blessed to know such women and have learned alot from them about inner beauty and strength. Awhile back, I had my headshots done by Jenny Schomaker who spearheaded this event. It was at that time that we had a conversation about what she wanted to do and why. Basically, as a photographer, Jenny has a unique opportunity to bring out the inner beauty of the people she photographs (if you've seen my headshot...you know what I mean). She's heard over and over again how women hate how they look etc and wanted to do something to change that perception. Hence Project Pink. The theme was Loving yourself from the inside out. I was able to help out a little bit, but wish that I could have done more. I'm really glad that it came together for her and she had some great community sponsors and volunteers. The keynote speaker was another friend, Heather Madder, who wrote a fantastic book and is a radio show host. I was intent on watching Amanda during her address and could see the impact it had on her. We attended a couple of the classes, learned some things about each other, released our balloons and had a great lunch. Thank you so much to my friends for giving me a wonderful experience with my daughter and her friends that I'll cherish for a lifetime!

Pink balloons with stickers - we wrote down something about ourselves that we believed or needed to believe about ourselves.

Spending the day with my daughter - priceless

Amanda and her 2 best friends :).
