Fare Thee Well 2011
"It was the worst of times, it was the best of times..." isn't that how it generally goes? 2011 had it's ups and downs, frustrations, revelations, adventures, and excitement, but I for one am elated that a new year is upon us. Here's what transpired in a nutshell:
Frank started a new job while still working on his own company(thank you recession), turned 40, took me to London and a day in Scotland for our anniversary, and is adding Mandarin to his language list (really I can't keep up!!).
Me, I finally graduated from U of Phoenix with a MA in secondary education (yes I have the actual document) and survived 12 weeks of student teaching. I lost a few good friends, mortality seems to have given me a wake up call and I got a new bike for Christmas.
Amanda started high school, enjoying seminary, but not so much the heartache surrounding boys/dances/and popular girls (I so wish I could spare her all that heartache...hard to watch as a mom as they make their way). She spent a month in Hawaii and insists that she knows all the teens on one of the islands from EFY :). She is busy with choir, and Copperstar plays.
Justine is finally 12, my novice computer hacker, genius, and animator. Who knew?! She started middle school and the drama of a preteen has begun for the second time (sooo not looking forward to daughter 3 and said drama...as this one said she would not have her head spin like sister #1). She is busy with Copperstar, soccer and voice. It warms my heart that I have to tell her to turn off the lights because she is reading too much :).
Natalie is still our baby (and yes...we need to break her of the manipulation being said baby of the family). She is busy with Copperstar, and made the soccer team and is excited about starting tournaments with the new team. She loves the outdoors, our dogs that continue to reside with us only because of her devotion (my carpets do not like said dogs).
We all preformed at Christmas in Annie....very busy Nov and Dec for us. It fulfilled a bucket list item for me. I was petrified, but loved the Copperstar family, miss them, but according to daughter #1 I can not act :).
Nice visits from my parents and Frank's for Christmas, traditional homemade Chinese food, friends and games. These were the good things I'll miss...the other drama not so much.
Here's to a prosperous new year....if only because it's an election year and we will finally, hopefully get our country back on track! Recessions bite!!

Wow! The girls are looking so old. Teenage Drama SUCKS! I can't stand the "popular kids" Why don't the rest of the kids band together and have a party!!!!
All in all, you have a great life that I'm often envious of. I just love the heck out of you girl!
Someday down the road we'll sit down and have a cupa (well yours will be hot cocoa, hee, hee) and remember only the good times, so here's to that. :) Hope the New Year is going great!!!
