Phoenix Zoo Trip

I'm a little nostaglic today as this is probably my last school field trip to the zoo! I helped chaperone Natalie's class today and we had a lot of fun. It was a nice, breezy day and we had a very active group. Natalie and Lizbeth were the only girls in the group if that says anything :). I hooked up with one of my friends from the other class, Tiffany Eastley and we set off on our mini zoo adventure. We had a few scrapes, headaches, hand sanitizer in the eye kind of moments that make the field trip memorable. I was able to hear the Howler Monkeys this time, and they are creepy. I'd hate to run into one of them - it was disturbing that such a small thing can make those horrific sounds. It was nice getting there early as we got to see the giant turtles walking, albeit very slowly and what looked painful around. I get it now why they don't venture far, they walk with their toes inward. Anyways, I enjoyed riding the bus and sitting with Natalie, sharing cotton candy and all the pencils we bought at the gift shop. Mrs. M's class rocks!

I love going on field trips when I was in elementary school. My mom worked nights, so she ALWAYS got to go with us. Now though, it doesn't seem like the kids are going on as many field trips. Maybe because of the gas prices.
