Desert Botanical Gardens in PHX

My last field trip of the year was to the Desert Botanical Gardens in PHX with Natalie's class. I have mixed emotions about being through for the year! It was the hottest day of the week and it was a pain to keep the kids hydrated, but I had fun with my little group of girlies :). I'm not a huge fan of desert landscaping, but in it's element it can be beautiful. Right now the cacti are blooming and they had some neat Mexican glass displays throughout the garden paths. They say it is beautiful at night all lit up and I'm sure 20 degrees cooler! The big hit was the butterfly pavilion and having them land on you. We had a great guide, Wayne from Wisconsin. The kids got a kick out of his jokes. Sorry mom and dad that I've not taken you guys here...I know you'd love it!
